The American city should be a collection of communities where every member has a right to belong. It should be a place where every man feels safe on his streets and in the house of his friends. It should be a place where each individual’s dignity and self-respect is strengthened by the respect and affection of his neighbors. It should be a place where each of us can find the satisfaction and warmth which comes from being a member of the community of man. This is what man sought at the dawn of civilization. It is what we seek today.

“The experiences I gained through my participation with CFIC programming have been invaluable and have enriched my life in many ways. I consider each of my unique program experiences among the most profound experiences that truly test and challenge the participants to their core. Each experience builds on the previous one and motivates you to do more. I hope that I am able to continue to be a part of CFIC programs, learn more and become more competent to make a difference in the lives of the student delegates, other volunteers, my students and society at large”.

“CFIC is a home away from home, where no matter how you old you are its okay to sing out loud and cry on someone’s shoulder, it’s a place where no matter what you have been through or what you’re going through people support and uplift you! At CFIC, I get the privilege of being both the teacher, and the student.”
- Ebony Banks, volunteer since 2005

“CFIC has showed me it is okay to be who I am when no one else said it was. I hear the quote by Mahatma Ghandi all the time: ‘Be the change you want to see in the world.’ Volunteering with CFIC allows me to do just that.”
- David Lefebvre, volunteer since 2003. |

“I am so happy to be a part of CFIC programming. For me, the few days I spent at IncluCity were invaluable. They gave me a new vision for life, showed me who I am and how I can be more confident, and allowed me to connect with new people. Being new to this country is challenging for me, but CFIC has given me a chance to unlock my potential and make inclusive changes in my everyday life.”
– Diyen Bahena, volunteer since 2007 |
